Indian Summer Camp

Indian Summer Camp is a highly popular one-week program for children ages 7-17 who have or have had cancer. Held each summer at Camp Cedarmore near Bagdad, Ky., the free camp offers swimming, crafts, hiking, fishing, archery, and campfires under the stars as a welcome break from hospitals, doctors, and treatment sessions. Over the last two decades, Indian Summer Camp has enriched the lives of more than 700 kids with cancer

KCP founded the program in 1980. It is now operated by the independent Friends of Indian Summer Camp and directed by KCP Cancer Control Specialist Amy Steinkuhl. Indian Summer Camp is a founding member of the Children’s Oncology Camps of America International. The camp is open to kids from all states.
