These easy-to-read brochures on the five primary cancers are among the materials KCP coordinators distribute at community events. The information in the brochures is also available as fact sheets.

Educational Programs
The Kentucky Cancer Program (KCP) offers diverse education and training programs to increase awareness and knowledge about cancer prevention, screening, survivorship, clinical trials, and related topics. Specifically, we:
Provide training and continuing education to health care professionals through workshops, conferences, and the Providers Practice Prevention continuing education series produced by the Kentucky Cancer Program West at the University of Louisville.

bullet Conduct educational presentations at small group events, national cancer observance activities, health fairs, and other community group meetings. The presentations can be tailored for specific audiences, such as cancer patients and their families, schools, churches, businesses, and other groups.

bullet Prepare exhibits and displays targeting specific cancer topics for health fairs, special events, and professional meetings.

bullet Distribute free educational materials in collaboration with national organizations, such as the American Cancer Society, Centers for Disease Prevention and Control, and National Cancer Institute's Cancer Information Service.

bullet Use a variety of media channels, such as newspaper and newsletter articles, and television and radio broadcasts to reach large numbers of people with cancer information.
